Kinley Rinzin Thinley is a law graduate from the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law, Bhutan’s premier legal institution. He brings a strong foundation in legal research, client consultation, litigation support, and community-based legal awareness, developed through rigorous academic training and hands-on experience across a range of legal domains. His expertise spans criminal law, family law, commercial disputes, environmental law, and corporate responsibility.

Mr. Thinley has interned with several prominent legal institutions, including Bhutanese Legal Solutions, the Office of the Attorney General, Druk Legal Solutions, and Samdhen Legal Firm. In these roles, he contributed to significant casework involving drug possession, human trafficking, corruption, money laundering, and contractual disputes. He has assisted in the drafting of tenancy agreements, affidavits, arbitration documents, and formal court petitions, while also providing legal support in complex family and property matters.

 

In the area of environmental law, Mr. Thinley was a key participant in the Climate Change and Environmental Law Clinic. He led initiatives on legal awareness related to illegal wildlife trade, corporate social responsibility, and climate justice. His fieldwork involved conducting community workshops and legal surveys across gewogs and industrial zones, reflecting his commitment to access to justice at the grassroots level.
